Junior Accounts Assistant

Qualification: Intermediate (Commerce)
BPS-13 is equivalent to NPS-4

Job Description:

• Maintain books of accounts, cash books, ledgers, vouchers, and other financial records.
• Assist in preparing payment vouchers, receipts, bills, invoices, and journal entries.
• Verify supporting documents and ensure the completeness of financial claims before processing.
• Assist in processing employee salary bills, allowances, reimbursements, travel claims, and other authorized payments.
• Maintain records of expenditures, receipts, advances, imprest funds, and outstanding liabilities.
• Assist in bank reconciliation, cash reconciliation, and reconciliation of relevant accounting balances.
• Enter financial transactions into accounting software and maintain accurate electronic records.
• Assist in preparing budget estimates, expenditure statements, financial summaries, and periodic reports.
• Maintain files relating to procurement, purchase orders, vendor payments, and contract expenditures.
• Support internal and external audits by retrieving vouchers, statements, and other supporting documents.
• Assist in monitoring budget utilization and identifying discrepancies for review by the reporting officer.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial and employee information.
• Comply with applicable financial rules, tax requirements, procurement procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform other relevant accounts-related duties assigned by the competent authority.
