Resident Engineer - Electrical

Role purpose
Provide senior technical and site-level oversight of the electrical components of assigned solar works, including utility-scale/rooftop PV, BESS and plant-level C&C/SCADA, on behalf of PMU-Solar.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor construction and installation against the approved technical specifications, drawings, quality plans, contractual milestones and applicable electrical safety requirements; coordinate detailed reviews with the appointed consultants.
• Examine electrical design/submittal, equipment and inspection records relating to modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection, earthing, BESS/PCS and plant-level communication systems and flag deviations for formal resolution.
• Participate in site inspections, site acceptance tests, commissioning, performance/reliability tests and defect close-out as authorized, without replacing EPC or independent TPV responsibilities.
• Coordinate technical interfaces at the points of interconnection with W&PD GB for non-solar grid works and project-wide C&C/SCADA; maintain interface and dependency registers.
• Verify progress evidence, quantities and site records and review payment-related technical documentation for referral through prescribed consultant/TPV and PMU approval channels.
• Lead assigned electrical field staff, maintain site issue/defect registers, review O&M documentation and report progress, technical risks and corrective measures to the Project Director.

Minimum eligibility

• Qualification: Four-year B.E./B.Sc./B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
• Experience: At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in power generation, electrical infrastructure or renewable-energy EPC projects, including at least 5 years in site supervision, design review, installation, testing or commissioning of electrical power systems.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in grid-connected solar PV, BESS/PCS, plant-level SCADA, electrical protection and grid interconnection is preferred.
• Age: 40 years.
