The Specialist IT Operations & Infrastructure is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the organization’s core technology infrastructure. This role oversees the day to day operation and optimization of servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, and security systems. The position plays a critical role in maintaining stable connectivity, secure data flows, and robust IT services through proactive monitoring, timely issue resolution, and adherence to governance and cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers (physical & virtual), storage systems, networks, firewalls,VPNs, LAN/WAN, and managed Wi Fi solutions.
• Ensure system availability, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and uptime management across infrastructure components.
• Administer backups, support disaster recovery operations, and contribute to business continuity planning.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, enterprise applications, and infrastructure services.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, resolving complex infrastructure, security, and network incidents.
• Maintain a comprehensive IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
• Support adherence to IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity policies, risk controls, and audit requirements.
• Assist with IT procurement under PPRA Rules, including preparing technical specifications and participating in bid evaluations.
• Coordinate with external vendors, ISPs, and service providers to ensure SLA compliance and timely resolution of issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, system configurations, and periodic operational performance reports.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
• Hands on experience configuring, deploying, and managing enterprise network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, VLANs).
• Proven experience in server, SAN, and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper V, or Proxmox, including monitoring, backup, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration, including Active Directory / Entra ID, Group Policy, identity and access management.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and implementing security features including Purview Information Protection, DLP, Conditional Access, and MFA.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Working knowledge of ISO 27001 or similar standards, with experience supporting compliance documentation, internal controls, and audits.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and application of operational and security best practices.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor s degree (16 years of education) in Engineering, IT, Innovation, Technology Management, or a related field from an HEC recognized national or foreign university.
• At least one technical certification in infrastructure, networking, system administration, or cloud technologies (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, VMware, Azure, CompTIA) is preferred.
• A master’s degree is a strong plus.
