The position is based in Islamabad.
The Specialist Technology Projects & Applications shall support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s technology and business applications.
The role focuses on assisting in the management of IT systems and digital platforms to ensure smooth operations, adherence to standards, and alignment with organizational goals. The Specialist will work under the guidance of senior IT leaders to contribute to digital transformation, application enhancement, and day to day technical support especially supporting the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of the organization’s business related applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis for business, web, and
Application, AI development initiatives.
• Assist in the end to end lifecycle management of applications, including testing,
deployment, updates, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
• Participating in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to capture stakeholder
needs to communicate progress effectively.
• Contribute to enhancements, bug fixes, feature development, and optimization across
enterprise applications, websites, and digital platforms.
• Assist (when needed) with hands on development and customization support using PHP, PHP WordPress (themes, widgets, plugins), JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL,
etc. ensuring standards compliant and secure code.
• Apply strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, database design, and
troubleshooting across MySQL and MongoDB environments.
• Support application integration efforts, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture,
design patterns, and microservices concepts.
• Ensure all applications adhere to cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory
compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams (Engineers, Architects, Product
Managers, OA, Operations, Business Partners) to track progress, quality, and deliverables.
• Contribute to cloud native, low code/no code, AI enabled, and modern UI/UX initiatives,
keeping up with evolving trends in web development.
• Provide website and platform support to ensure optimal performance, availability, user
experience, and security.
• Ensure technical deliverables meet the established architectural vision, coding standards, and business requirements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and tracking materials for timelines, budgets, changes, and progress.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, supporting effective
collaboration and client/stakeholder management.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of core IT concepts, application workflows, software development
practices, modern web technologies and Generative and Agentic AI flows,
technologies and concepts.
• Exceptional coding skills in JavaScript, with advanced proficiency in AngularJS and
Angular frameworks.
• Hands on experience with front end development tools such as NPM, Bower, Grunt, Yeoman, and Webpack, with the ability to optimize builds and workflows.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem solving abilities in technical and fast paced
environments.
• Effective communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
collaborates across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Customer centric approach with strong attention to detail, quality, and user experience.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and/or CI/CD methodologies, contributing effectively
to iterative development cycles.
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, with an understanding of best
practices for service delivery and operational support.
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Innovation, Technology Management, or a related discipline from a reputable national or foreign universities recognized by HEC.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field is a strong plus.
• At least one technical certification in a related area (e.g., Agile foundations, cloud fundamentals, cybersecurity essentials) is preferred and adds significant value.
