Dy. Manager (Data Base Administration)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Sixteen (16) years of education or Master’s degree in IT, Computer/Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (with at least 60% marks) from duly recognized university by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. • The candidate must possess 5 years of relevant IT experience from private sector or BPS-17 and above from Govt. / Semi Govt./Autonomous Body. REMUNERATION: The positions are offered market based lump sum package. TENURE: The employment will be on an open contract on lump sum pay package, with six months’ probation period. JOB DESCRIPTION: • Create and maintain all Applications & databases environments required for development, testing, training and production usage. • Performs ongoing performance tuning of the applications & databases instances. • Install new versions of the RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the database. • Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Meta link Services and third parties as appropriate. • Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle Databases. • Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database. • Provide technical support to application development teams. • Troubleshoot problems regarding databases, applications and development tools • Help to provide a seamless flow and secure accessibility of data throughout the organization; keeping in mind backend data structure as well as frontend needs for the end-user experience. • Responsible of planning and executing backup and restoration strategies. • Monitoring the databases for performance and identify possible issues before occurrence. • Planning database failover strategy to making it highly available for the system. • Responsible of database security and reliability in-case of any issue incident should be documented. • Work with the Development team to make sure that proper maintenance is performed on the database servers. This includes: overseeing upgrades, patches, migrations, etc. • Create custom monitoring and maintenance plans. • Administering and testing new upgrades and databases. • Responsible to Analyze, develop and document database SOPs, Log Sheets, Operational Manuals and assist with schema technical documentation. • Ability to Undertake database related tasks required with the software changes and resolve performance tuning issues. • Database growth planning, database size management, efficient database backup/restore administration. • Troubleshoot and resolve database problems.
