PhD or Masters degree in Petroleum Geology, Geology with specialization in Coal Resources, Gas Reservoir, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or Mining Engineering with specialization in the relevant field.
Experience
At least 14 years of experience, including 5 to 8 years of managerial or administrative experience at the policy making level for PhD holders, or
At least 18 years of experience, including 5 to 8 years of managerial or administrative experience at the policy making level for Masters degree holders.
Responsibilities
Promote and introduce innovation and technological interventions to modernize the energy sector by prioritizing public sector investment to address energy sector losses and ensure the supply of sustainable and affordable energy.
Conduct technical appraisal, review, monitoring, and evaluation of energy sector projects and programs, and guide implementing agencies in prioritizing sectoral investments, projects, programs, policies, regulations, and standards while considering alternative options, international pricing trends, trade, foreign investment, and energy supply and demand.
Coordinate with development partners and assist them in the preparation of Pakistan specific country strategies.
Participate in CDWP and ECNEC meetings and facilitate approval processes for energy sector development projects and programs as an energy sector expert.
Perform any other assignment entrusted by the Prime Minister, Minister for Planning, DCPC, or Secretary PD and SI.
