Job Description
Master’s degree in Public Policy, Management, Data Sciences, demography, Development Economics or any other STEM field
Strong analytical writing skills; demonstrated ability to produce policy briefs for senior decision-makers. Understanding of results-based planning, MTBF frameworks and government planning cycles
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the development sector programming or development planning. Experience with demographic analysis and interpretation of survey data. Prior exposure to Pakistan's population sector government, partner or research is strongly preferred. Excellent writing skills.
Lead analytical and strategy work on Pakistan's fertility transition, population growth trajectory and demographic dividend policies. Translate demographic evidence into actionable policy notes and costed roadmaps with measurable milestones. Serve as the unit's primary author on population related work
Draft population policy notes, fertility transition strategy papers and demographic roadmaps for ministerial and PM-level audiences. Prepare financing briefs, conference abstracts and technical submissions for international forums and development partner meetings. Monitor progress against population commitments in the 5-year plan and MTBF; produce gap analyses and corrective action notes for the Unit Lead. Track international comparators like Bangladesh, Iran, Ethiopia, Indonesia for applicable best-practice policy options and adaptation pathways. Prepare background documentation and talking points for inter-ministerial and population coordination forums Advise on critical indicators on D4D portal for population planning and development Any other work assigned by Unit Head/ Team Lead MTU /Member Population Planning Commission.
