CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan or foreign qualification of equivalent level recognized by the HEC, with at least 10 years' experience out of which 5 years as a Key Officer or Director or Chief Executive or Principal Officer in the insurance Industry or as an officer with Insurance Regulator; OR a) ACII or FCII, (b) be a Fellow or Associate of the Institute or Society of Actuaries or equivalent qualification as recognized by the Pakistan Society of Actuaries. (c ) hold a Masters degree in Insurance. Risk Management or Actuarial Science from a University recognized by the HEC with at least 5 years' experience as Key Officer or Director or Chief Executive or Principal Officer in the insurance industry or as an officer with Insurance Regulator. No individual shall be appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) unless they meet the criteria set forth in the Insurance Companies (Sound and Prudent Management) Regulations, 2012 issued by the SECP, and also fulfils the criteria in all other applicable laws and regulations, and their appointment is approved by the SECP. RESPONSIBILITIES: i. Implement the vision, mission and goals of the Company as outlined by the Board of Directors. ii. Report company performance to the Board. iii. Provide inspired leadership; create culture of performance, positive morale and accountability in the company. iv. Provide a marketing plan and the vision of the company's future development. v. Lead development and execution of short and long-term operational policies and strategic plans for the company. vi. Assess risks to the company and ensure they are monitored and minimized. vii. Bear responsibilities for the company's finances, including working closely with the CFO to prepare budgets. and keep the Board of Directors informed with respect to cash management, investments and internal audits. viii. Work closely with Human Resources (HR) to streamline hiring practices, fixation of perks, privileges and benefit disbursement of the employees. ix. Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division managers. x. Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations. xi. Represent the company as required, including attendance at important functions, industry events and public meetings and create alliance for the company, if required. xii. Evaluate the work of other executives within the company. xiii. Ensure that the company maintains high social impact and adhere to its corporate social responsibility. All other responsibilities mentioned in all applicable laws. Eligibility will be determined and selection will be finalized as per approved government policy. The selection and compensation will be determined by the BoD. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The candidate shall not be entitled for any TA/DA while appearing for the interview. No person shall be appointed as Chief Executive Officer unless he is a citizen of Pakistan.
